A study by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons reveals that prospects need to research their options more before having cosmetic plastic surgery. The study was the result of polling 617 cosmetic surgery and reconstructive surgery patients, who confessed to having regretted not knowing more about side effects before having their surgery.
The president of the ASPS, Dr Roxanne Guy, said you cannot afford to be nonchalant about cosmetic surgery.
Beverly Hills Cosmetic Surgery learned that 40% of respondents revealed that they wished they had done more prior research.
Over half said they were concerned about complications but were inadequately informed about them or were uncomfortable asking the surgeons more questions.
Only 28% checked the credentials of the surgeon.
